KidSafe Project Society is a registered Canadian charity that provides a safe space for children facing adversity. The organization operates in seven Vancouver School Board sites during winter, spring, and summer breaks, as well as after school. KidSafe reaches approximately 300 children per break-time program and 60+ children throughout the year with its after-school program. The programs are grounded in evidence-based practices in healthy social and emotional development, encompassing five key assets essential to overall health and well-being. These assets include supportive relationships with adults, a sense of belonging and friendship with peers, good health habits, participation in meaningful activities, and positive experiences at home, in school, and in the community.
KidSafe provides a safe space for children to learn, play, eat, and just be kids when school is not in session. The organization serves hundreds of Vancouver's most at-risk youth by providing developmental care and nutrition to children ages 5-13. KidSafe also offers ideas for activities and teachable moments that can be used at home to teach kids how to be safe. The organization is committed to creating a supportive environment where children can thrive and feel safe.
